Administrative Associate/CMA Urgent Care

Position reports to the Director of Urgent Care and works directly with patients.


Basic Minimum Requirements for this position are:


  • High School diploma or equivalent required

  • Current valid Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is required

  • Multi Tasker, must be fluent in Spanish for this position

  • Provides assistance to physicians and nurses as directed. This person interacts positively with physicians, staff, patients and families.  This person must be able to work independently and as a team member

  • Answers phone and takes messages for doctors and staff. Message includes: name, date, telephone number, if patient; date of birth, pharmacy number if applicable, and the reason for the call

  • Complete Workers’ Compensation forms, DOT employee physical form and card, school physical and immunization card (demographics only)

  • When labs are received by fax, provide to physician on duty for review

  • If records are needed from hospital/doctor’s office, have patient sign the medical record release form and fax the release to the hospital and the hospital’s medical record department to ensure they have the release

  • Schedule urgent specialist medical appointments as requested by provider

  • CMA duties including vital signs, EKG’s, point of care testing, and stocking of medical supplies

  • Exemplary Customer Service skills in a fast paced environment

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the nurse or healthcare provider


    Must have ability to work flexible hours including some weekends



Basic Minimum Requirements for this position are:

  • RN Licensure.
  • Experience in a similar clinical environment
  • Current ACLS, BLS certification.
  • 1-2 years PACU experience is required.

Applicants should be available to work variable shifts during a 10 hour Tuesday through Friday schedule. No call, weekends or holidays.

Without the help of volunteers donating their time, the health center would not be able to provide some its services and programs. Bonita Community Health Center provides a wide range of volunteer opportunities.


The health center tries to assign the position of greatest interest of our volunteers.
